The Flat: Little Europe

Inconspicuously tucked behind the downtown mall, The Flat’s modest facade shouldn’t turn away visitors from sampling their warm, filling crepes. Around the corner from The Jefferson, The Flat is based out of a small building resembling a hut with strictly outdoor seating on a small patio. Akin to ‘the dumpling place,’ The Flat’s hidden, closet-like locale hasn’t hindered its popular with locals hunting for a late-night snack. Made on buckwheat or gluten-free crepes, the menu features both sweet and savory options. Light yet filling savory choices include combinations of apple, avocado, chicken, egg, many cheeses, and more. Sweet options include My Funny Valentine with white chocolate, strawberries, and cinnamon; Crepe Suzette with brown sugar, butter, lemon, and grand marnier; and Mama’s Apple Pie with vanilla crepe, brown sugar, apples, butter, and cinnamon. Most crepes can even be made vegetarian or vegan.
